Sorry for the lack of updates, but that'll be the norm for now. My life is too busy, and really, all we're doing is waiting.
It's like that really bad show -- Joe Millionaire? I don't know if your pregnant wife made you sit with her and watch it, but it was a bunch of stupid (and I mean stupid like a pencil eraser) women waiting for Joe Millionaire to arrive.
And waiting. And Waiting. And after one hour of TV waiting time, they announced that the meeting wouldn't happen until next Monday. If there's a time to have that baby, it's next Monday.
So anyway, Elisa is about to explode. We had a midwife visit today, and Hsui-Li announced that Elisa's belly was larger than normal. This baby looks friggin' huge. As far as I'm concerned, it's still not going to fit.
Not that Elisa won't try. We also found out she's 70 percent effaced and two centimeters dilated. Up from 60 percent and 1 centimeter last week. According to Hsui-Li (who was really digging up there today), this is all good news. She claims that at this stage, it has already saved Elisa 10 hours of labor. The more effaced, the more dilated she is, the easier things will go.
So at this point, we're literally at the "at any moment" stage of the pregnancy. We're due November 10, but the midwife is pretty sure we won't last that long (though she can't say for sure, of course).
Tonight, though, the baby told us it was ready. But to wait five minutes because it needed "to get ready".
We're still waiting.
It's got to be a girl...
(just a guess!)
